A heartfelt welcome

The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund is the award winning charity supporting the Yorkshire heart unit at the Leeds General Infirmary. We fund equipment, staff posts, resources and training for those who work on the heart wards; and support CHD patients and their families.

We are funded by generous donations from the general public and our corporate supporters, and by the amazing efforts of our fundraisers. We’re only able to help because of your support. Thank you!

Help us give each child a childhood

  • 400 babies and children from Yorkshire, Humber and North Lincs have open heart surgery each year
  • 10,000 babies and children use the heart unit each year
  • 12 babies are born with CHD every day in the UK
  • Around 80% of babies born with CHD now survive to adulthood – thanks to improving treatment and surgery
