Huge boost for Eckersley House appeal
Since the Children's Heart Surgery Fund donated £250,000 to the Sick Children's Trust's 'Big Move' appeal, we are pleased to announce that we have also agreed to donate on a yearly basis to support the upkeep of Eckersley House. Last year we gave £10,000 and this year we have given a fantastic £25,000 to Eckersley House!!
The family of Toby Lancaster is just one of those to benefit from Eckersley House. Toby, aged three, has a serious heart defect and has spent many weeks on the heart wards at the Leeds General Infirmary. He has already had two major operations and will have further operations as he gets older.
His mum Joanne said "When your child is fighting for his life you want to be there alongside him rather than travelling up and down the motorway. Having parent accommodation at the hospital means you can concentrate on your child without having to worry too much about taking care of yourself. It makes a very difficult situation a bit less stressful"
