Ways to get involved

We have fantastic sponsorship opportunities

SPONSORSHIP

We have fantastic sponsorship opportunities – a chance for your firm to show your support by putting your name to one of our flagship events, high-profile projects or even a piece of equipment.

Could you sponsor one of our fundraising events or get involved in our favourite day of the year – our phenomenal Wear Red Day? An annual event which is supported by dozens of schools and businesses in Yorkshire and the Humber.

Or would you prefer to have your business sponsor an innovative new piece of equipment for the ward or a project to improve the facilities for patients and their families?

Whatever you choose, our high profile across the region means your support will be known to thousands of supporters and the wider public.

A fantastic way to promote your brand at the same time as raising money and awareness for our work

CAUSE RELATED MARKETING

Cause-related marketing, or CRM, is a fantastic way to promote your brand at the same time as raising money and awareness for our work.

It’s proven to increase sales, encourage positive brand awareness and customer loyalty, and to generate new customers.

Have you got a product or service that would be suitable? We’ve got a unique route to market through with thousands of supporters across our social networking sites and our supporter magazine, BraveHearts, with a distribution of 5,000 copies each quarter.

By linking with us on a CRM project, you’ll get these great benefits:

  • Increase sales, win new customers and retain existing ones
  • Strengthen your brand awareness with a key point of differentiation
  • Build trust in, loyalty towards, and a positive perception of your brand
  • Increase online engagement through our social media channels
  • Positive association with an award-winning, high-profile charity
  • Make a real difference to children with heart disease and their families

An efficient way for employees to donate to Children’s Heart Surgery Fund

PAYROLL GIVING

Payroll giving is a tax efficient way for employees to donate to Children’s Heart Surgery Fund. The scheme lets you set up a regular donation from your salary before tax is deducted.

How payroll giving works

  • You choose how much you want to donate
  • Each payday, that donation comes out of your wages
  • The tax office gives us tax on your donation – something that doesn’t cost you a penny but means we get more money!
  • You can give as much as you like, and you can change or cancel your pledge at any time.

How to set up payroll giving

Your employer may already have a payroll giving scheme – so the first thing to do is check with your payroll or HR department.

Charity of The Year Partnerships

There’s nothing we like more than really getting to know our corporate supporters – building a long-term partnership that
has benefits for both your organisation and our charity.

By selecting us as your Charity of the Year or chosen charity partner, you know that the efforts of your firm and employees
will have a great impact for the region’s young heart patients.

Studies show there are big benefits to business as well – more engaged employees,
and great PR in the local community and among your customers as well.

Employee Fundraising Ideas

EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEERING

Volunteering is rewarding for your staff, and lets them use their skills in a difference way – as well as being a great team building experience. Staff from our corporate partners help us decorate our wards; run bucket collections; act as stewards at events; and help out at our annual children’s Christmas party. We can help identify volunteer opportunities for your staff – just get in touch.

HAVE FUN IN THE OFFICE

There are lots of ways your staff can support us – from office bake sales; to dress-down days; to putting on an event or even an Apprentice-style challenge. We’ve got lots of ideas for office-based fundraising, so get in touch for some inspiration! Or let us know your great ideas – our corporate partners always impress us with their fantastic efforts on our behalf!

WEAR RED DAY

One of the easiest and most fun ways is getting by taking part in our Wear Red Day each February – turning your company red to support our work. It’s our flagship annual event, and sees dozens of businesses, schools and nurseries dress in red to raise funds and spread awareness. Our much-loved mascot Katie Bear always heads out and about around the region on the big day – perhaps she could pay a visit to your office on our next Wear Red Day?

TAKE ON A CHALLENGE

Entering a staff team into one of our events is a fantastic team building experience and one that can raise a lot of sponsorship to help our work. Could your staff take on one of our challenges – maybe running a 10k or half marathon? Our events calendar shows what’s coming up – it would be great to have you on the team!
