What our supporters say
I just wanted to send a thank you for the support we received while on L51 back in May. Our daughter Lottie had open heart surgery at 8 days old and was in hospital for a further 11 days after surgery. The support Sarah gave us on the ward, the accommodation you provided us so we could be in Leeds, and the support you give the congenital heart unit as a whole is amazing, and we as parents really appreciate it. Helen
About Children’s Heart Surgery Fund online community
The Facebook group helped me get through the toughest time of my life. Amazing people who care – thank you. Rachel
I think that CHSF is a wonderful charity – and I only wish I had discovered their Facebook group before Lilly had had her surgery. Sarah
About Leaving a Legacy for Children’s Heart Surgery Fund
My husband and I found out at my 20 week scan that our first son, Ben, had a congenital heart defect. Last year we created our Wills, and keen to help other families and children in our position we’ve included a donation to CHSF to ensure the charity can continue its invaluable work. It is a great legacy to leave. Marie Lees, mother of patient Ben
The loss of our aunt was a very sad time for us all. But now having seen the difference that her donation has made to help all the people at CHSF carry out their brilliant work, it has given us a real sense of pride in her wish to help the children who visit the ward. We now feel a strong connection with everyone involved which will last forever. Jon and Karen Collinge
About community fundraising
Make full use of the CHSF team. They have a wealth of knowledge between them to make the most of your fundraising. They can also help with marketing merchandise like posters, banners and leaflets to help promote your event. They are always there to support you and nothing is ever too much trouble. Sarah Hardy
About Children’s Heart Surgery Fund events
I signed up for the marathon in November last year and when Iris’s operation was scheduled for the same week as the run, I thought about pulling out. It was my wife Cath who persuaded me to do the run and set up a JustGiving page to raise money for CHSF. We know the money will go towards the best medical equipment and ward facilities to help other children like Iris.
